The Reality of Hindi Television Shows Today

Do your children sit and watch television serials with you? If yes is your answer then that's simply because the Hindi Television channels have understood the importance of younger audience.

So, what is it that has pulled them towards the television sets, especially during the prime time slots? The answer to that question is reality shows. Today most of the channels get their majority TRPs through reality shows. It has become such an integral part of every script. Today, even the family soap audience connect themselves well with these shows because of the realistic drama it offers.

A reality show is a perfect script, nothing less than a film, with a lot of drama, emotions and happy endings. These shows create dreams and make the audience believe the fact that a common man can also be a hero one day. Hence, it cannot be denied that there is a need for these shows, to increase the channel TRPs.

Most of these concepts however are adapted from Hollywood shows. To name a few, Kaun Banega Crorepati, Indian Idol, Minute to win it, Big Boss and India's Got Talent. That's why channels have also realised the importance of introducing new concepts for reality shows to keep the excitement going. Colors manages to create the excitement every 4 months with reality shows like India's Got Talent, Jhalak Dikhlaja and India's Got Talent.

But what still manages to pull down Colors to the second spot in the TRP charts are the shows offered by Sony Entertainment Television. Sony, not only offers entertainment with their longest running show CID, but it also manages to entertain the audience with their popular TV shows like Indian Idol and Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Not far behind are channels like Zee Telefilms, Bindass Channel, Star Plus, MTV and Channel V. Zee Telefilms manages to hold on to the audience with their dancing and singing reality shows. Bindass Channel offers shows like Beg Borrow Steal, Emotional Athyachaar and Big Switch. Channels like MTV and Channel V constantly lock horns with each other to provide the best entertainment to their audience. MTV offers reality shows like Roadies, SplitsVilla and Stunt Mania which has become a craze over the years amongst the youth. Channel V offers entertainment with shows like Steal Your Girlfriend, Truth Love and Cash, and more.

But no matter which channel it is, one thing is for sure that every channel wants to hold on to their audience and give them the best entertainment to increase the channel TRPs. And to achieve this, channels will surely bring in more and more interesting reality shows rather than the routine family soaps.
